Personal Care Services

Concepts in Care's Personal Care services are provided by a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or a Personal Care Attendant (PCA). All services are monitored by the utilization of a Performance Improvement Program where survey results , Registered Nurse visits (as needed), and frequent phone calls to clients helps us guarantee the quality of care and service we provide. Personal Care services are maintenance services provided to client in the individual's residence to assist with the activities of daily living. The following activities constitute basic personal care services and shall be provided as authorized.

Personal Care Services Include (but not limited to):

  • Plan and prepare meals, as directed by client; clean-up after meals
  • Assist with eating / feeding
  • Make beds and / or change sheets with the client in or out of bed
  • Give bed baths and assist with other types of baths
  • Brush, comb, and shampoo hair
  • Shave with electric or safety razor
  • Brush teeth, clean dentures
  • Shave with electric or safety razor
  • Cut and clean fingernails and toenails (except for clients with contraindicating conditions)
  • Help dress / undress the clients when necessary
  • Assist the client to and from toilet; give and remove bedpan, urinal or bednav commode
  • Apply non-prescription topical ointments / lotions at client's direction
  • Assist client with reminders for self-administration medications
  • Give assistance to and from the bed to wheelchair, walker, or chair
  • Assist with amubulation
